Captivating Capri

The original Italian island retreat, Capri has been a favourite holiday spot since Roman times and became the holiday destination of the Glitterati, thanks to Jackie O in the 1960s. Melissa herself was captivated by Italy during her lustrous modelling years! So, it made perfect sense for Melissa to want to return to charming Capri to shoot her 2019 Collection, marking her 20th year on top of the world of designer swimwear.

Rustic villas, lemon groves and colourful tile lined streets make Capri one of Italy's most beautiful destinations. Contrasting with its quaint surroundings, Capri Palace sits in a prime location, overlooking the glamorous island. 'Sleek and sophisticated' are the words that come to mind on entering the all white hotel. Gorgeous furniture and exquisite chandeliers fill every room and hallway, while modern artworks commissioned by owner Tonino Cacace add a playful pop of colour.

Rooftop views give way to the iconic orange sun-loungers and umbrellas and the pool- the essence of 'dolce vita'. The guestrooms are an extension of the hotels modern take on Mediterranean décor. Hand-made blue and white ceramic tiles, fine linens and classical finishing (think colonial-style ceiling fans and Italian fashion coffee table books) give the rooms a charming and quaint feel. The tasteful pop-art influences reflect throughout the suites- our favourite has to have been the Palthrow Suite- inspired by the legendary Gwyneth Pathrow herself.  

After three intensive days of shooting her 2019 collection, Melissa had the chance to unwind at the legendary Capri Beauty Farm. Renowned for its innovative 'Leg School', which has been known to literally reshape legs and vanish any signs of cellulite- how could a promise like this be resisted?! A wellness treatment, tailored to each quests specific requirements is just what the Doctor (or in this case Professor Francesco Canonaco) ordered! Especially after over indulging in Michelin-starred L’Olivo restaurant, where chef Andrea Migliaccio works wonders with local produce.

Yet another Michelin star restaurant, with interiors reflective of its parent Capri Palace. Stepping inside, the gorgeous blues, whites and yellows add to the sense of 'Fisherman chic' while steep accessing steps take you down to the sea, and your awaiting yacht (ideally). Before you sail away to take in the sight of the famous Blue Lagoon, be sure to visit the Temptation Room, a chamber like no other!
